In an electrifying Round 5 showdown in the Swiss Stage, Selangor Red Giants (SRG) delivered a masterclass performance, securing a crucial victory over CFU Gaming to punch their ticket to the M6 World Championship Knockout Stage. A do-or-die match for both teams, saw SRG pulling off a spectacular comeback after early-game challenges. SRG’s relentless aggression and teamwork secured a 2-1 victory, eliminating CFU Gaming and spotlighting Malaysia once again.

One of the standout moments came from Innocent, SRG’s marksman, who showcased an exceptional performance with Moskov in the decisive Game 3. “Game One was intense, game two was one-sided, and in game three, we took the lead, but they (CFU) staged a comeback before we managed to regain control and attack,” said SRG’s coach, Arcadia.
What’s Next for the World Championships?
The Knockout Stage of the M6 World Championship 2024 is shaping up to be a thrilling showdown for Southeast Asian teams, especially the Malaysian contenders. SRG will face their toughest challenge yet against Fnatic ONIC PH, the reigning No. 1 team from the Philippines. Meanwhile, Team Vamos is set for an epic battle against RRQ Hoshi, the top seed from Indonesia. Team Vamos, having only formed in August, is on the brink of history if they advance further in the tournament.
